Competition Regulations
1. We will try to limit this competition to only one band/artist per secondary school.
2. The majority of the members of the band/artists must be registered full time students from the secondary school they are representing.
3. Band/artist members may only play in one act; further no band/artist may represent more than one school.
4. All registered band/artist must supply the leaders name, phone number and email address. They must also register all members names, school and student numbers. We require for our program, that each band/artist submit their stage name with logo, photo or both with a short bio (25 words) that describes the musical history of the band/artist.
5. In the case of two or more acts wanting to represent a school the final decision will be left to the JRMA Youth Competition committee.
6. Each act is required to play a minimum of eight minutes of material; original material is one of the criteria so you will score higher with a majority of your own music. Each act is restricted to a maximum of twelve minutes...if you perform over twelve minutes, the act is disqualified, power is shut off, and you forfeit any performance fee.
7. The FSU will provide a back line which consists of a drum kit, bass amp, and all of the microphones needed for the acts performance. Drummers must bring their own snare drum, seat and sticks; they may add one extra cymbal and/or percussion piece that is not a drum.
8. This Youth Category Competition is organized by FSU Programmer Pat Maloney; he may be contacted regarding any production related questions at pmaloney@fanshawec.ca or 519 453-3720 x244
